Jennifer Ahn is the president and founder of Image Media Services (IMS) located in Northern Virginia. She began the company in 1989 serving both private sector and government clients.
Ms. Ahn began her career as a news anchorwoman, show host and program planner at the Korean-American Broadcasting Network in Honolulu, Hawaii. She also served as the Asian Community PR Director for the East & West Center at the University of Hawaii.
In 1988, Ms. Ahn moved to Virginia and joined Weatherly and Company, an international investment company in Washington, D.C., and began pioneer consulting for advertisers looking to address the growing Asian American market.
She counseled AT&T on reaching the previously untapped Korean ethnic markets and conducted an unprecedented national recruitment advertising campaign on behalf of the U.S. Census in 2000.
Under her leadership IMS has created numerous national advertising campaigns for a number of federal U.S. government agencies, including the U.S. Army, Air Force, Bureau of Land Management, Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Coast Guard, among others.
She has extensive experience leading projects nationally and internationally for major corporations and associations, and consults with senior managers in both Korea and the United States.
In recent years she has consulted on projects for the government of South Korea, helping develop awareness and market expansion strategies on behalf of the Small and Medium Business Administration, Gyonggi Province, and Sejong City, among others, as well as corporations including Regen Cosmetics and Qrobo Software. IMS co-developed a pilot project with the Korean SMBA in 2013 to analyze and make market recommendations for 17 selected small businesses. The Korean government has renewed the project again for 2014.
Over the years she has been recognized as a pioneer in advertising and woman-owned entrepreneurship, and was recently selected as one of the 10,000 Most Successful Korean Women in the World over the past 100 years. In 2011 she was honored at the 2nd Hong Kong International Convention Committee as one of "The Top 30 Successful Business Women in the World" by KOWINNER (Korean Women's International Foundation).
